Standing at 47.5cm tall, 36cm wide, and weighing 9.74kg, this exquisite statue is meticulously crafted from 24K gold, gliding on a solid copper body with delicate acrylic color accents. The rich golden finish, coupled with Chenrezig's serene expression, captures the Bodhisattva’s infinite compassion and loving-kindness. This statue serves as both a spiritual centerpiece and a beautiful work of art, perfect for any meditation space, altar, or as a meaningful gift to anyone seeking spiritual growth.
The Chenrezig Statue is rich in iconography, each element symbolizing key aspects of Buddhist teachings and the Bodhisattva’s compassionate nature. Chenrezig is depicted with four arms, each representing the Bodhisattva’s boundless ability to extend compassion in various forms. In the right hand, Chenrezig holds a rosary, symbolizing the continuous practice of prayer and meditation, while the left hand holds a lotus, signifying purity and spiritual awakening. The two hands joined together in Anjali mudra—a gesture of prayer and reverence—reflect the Bodhisattva’s humility and devotion. The statue is set upon a lotus base, symbolizing the emergence of wisdom from the murky waters of ignorance, and crowned with a precious crown, signifying Chenrezig’s noble status as the embodiment of compassion and the supreme protector of sentient beings. Together, these symbols reflect Chenrezig's deep commitment to helping all beings attain enlightenment.
Introduction to Chenrezig:
Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, is the Bodhisattva of Compassion, revered across Tibetan Buddhism as the embodiment of the compassionate nature of all Buddhas. His name means "The One Who Looks with Unwavering Eye," reflecting his vow to hear all beings' cries and assist them on the path to liberation. Believed to manifest in countless forms to aid sentient beings, Chenrezig is primarily known for his thousand-armed form, symbolizing his boundless capacity to help. The mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" is associated with him and is widely recited to cultivate compassion.
How Do You Take Care of Your Statues?
- Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
- Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
- Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
- Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
- Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
Consecration Service Available
Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
Please note: Once consecrated, the statue becomes a sacred object and cannot be returned or refunded.
