Guru Padmasambhava Thangka
Introduction To The Thangka :
In addition to being a fully realized Buddha, Guru Padmasambhava has also appeared as one of the greatest sages in the Vajrayana Buddhist tradition. He was miraculously born, and by the strength of his knowledge and compassion, he has spent millennia serving limitless beings. In the body of light, he created Zangdok Palri Pureland and stayed there.
The Buddha of Infinite Light's blessed light hit a lotus in the Milk Ocean in the direction of Bodhgaya twelve years after the Buddha's Maha Parinirvana. Guru Padmasambhava thereupon magically gave birth to himself without the help of human parents in that lotus.
