About Our Statue

Buddhist Protector Mitrupa measures 8.3 inches (21 cm) in height with a base width of 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) and weighs 1.77 kilograms. Crafted from a durable copper body, it is beautifully adorned with 24K gold gilding and detailed gold and acrylic paintings. The intricate design and fine craftsmanship highlight the statue’s serene expression and spiritual essence, making it an ideal piece for meditation spaces, personal altars, or as a meaningful decorative item symbolizing enlightenment and peace.

Mitrupa, also known as Akshobhya Buddha, is depicted with a calm, serene expression and half-closed eyes reflecting deep meditation. His right hand shows the Bhumisparsha mudra, or "earth touching gesture," symbolizing unwavering enlightenment. Holding a vajra in his left hand, he represents indestructible wisdom and clear mind. Seated in vajra posture on a lotus base, he embodies spiritual purity and stability. Features like the Ushnisha and elongated earlobes signify supreme wisdom and renunciation. Draped in monastic robes, Mitrupa’s peaceful presence reflects immovable awareness and enlightened insight.

Mitrupa, also known as Mitrugpa, is a deity in Tibetan Buddhism identified with immovable wisdom, clarity, and spiritual protection. He is often equated with Akshobhya Buddha, one of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, who symbolizes steadfastness, serenity, and the transformation of anger into mirror-like wisdom. Mitrupa represents the quality of being immovable in the face of obstacles and distractions, embodying spiritual resolve and unwavering clarity on the path to enlightenment. As such, he serves as a protector and inspiration for practitioners seeking stability and wisdom in their meditation and spiritual practice.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
