Sita Tara Goddess (White Tara) | Protector of Longevity and Compassion
Divine Sita Tara Goddess Thangka | White Tara Buddha Art | Guardian of Health and Peace Amidst Natural Splendor
In Tibetan Buddhism, the Sita Tara Goddess is revered as the embodiment of purity, longevity, and compassion. She is often regarded as the female Bodhisattva who offers protection and assists in surmounting both spiritual and physical challenges. The calm and kind spirit of White Tara is captured in this gorgeous thangka, which is meticulously hand-painted on fine cotton canvas using natural stone colors and embellished with genuine gold. The painting follows the traditional Karma Gadri style, which is characterized by its harmonious compositions, delicate landscapes, and enthusiastic colour use. Natural stone pigments provide a vibrant yet subtle effect, enhancing the deity's radiant presence. At the same time, the application of gold highlights her ornaments and crown with a divine lustre.
The Karma Gadri style, originating from Eastern Tibet, is known for its spaciousness, flowing lines, and natural settings. In this thangka, the Karma Gadri technique beautifully harmonizes the figure of Sita Tara with the soft, mountainous landscape in the background. The delicate brushwork and intricate detailing reflect the artist's finesse and expertise, creating a visually captivating and spiritually uplifting piece.
Sita Tara, a symbol of purity and spiritual awakening, is depicted on a moon disc atop a lotus seat. A crown featuring five jewels and exquisite jewellery adorns her radiant white body. Her left hand is in the Abhaya Mudra and holding a fully bloomed lotus, which is held between the thumb and ring finger; it symbolizes purity and enlightenment. While her right hand is positioned in the Varada Mudra, symbolizing compassion and the act of giving. One of her unique features is the presence of seven eyes on her body: one on her forehead, one on each palm, one on each sole of her feet, and two on her regular eyes. These seven eyes represent her all-seeing nature, embodying vigilance and the ability to observe the suffering of sentient beings from all directions.
Created in our Enlightenment Studio, it is perfect for creating a sacred space or enhancing a meditation area. Its soothing colours and meticulous craftsmanship make it a beautiful addition to any spiritual setting. A traditional brocade frame can be customized, adding an extra touch of elegance and tradition.
