Green Tara, revered as the Swift Liberator and embodiment of compassionate activity (karuṇā in action), is iconographically portrayed seated with elegance upon a blooming lotus throne. Her right leg is extended forward, symbolizing her readiness to respond instantly to the suffering of sentient beings. In both hands, she holds fully blossomed lotus flowers, representing spiritual awakening and the purity that arises unsullied from the mire of samsara. Her right hand extends downward in the Varada Mudra, the gesture of supreme generosity, bestowing blessings and protection. Her left hand forms the Three Jewel Mudra, symbolizing her reverence for the Buddha, Dharma, and Sanghathe foundational refuges of the Buddhist path. Adorned with a crown featuring the Five Dhyani Buddhas, Green Tara embodies the quintessence of enlightened wisdom (prajñā) in its fivefold expressions, revealing her luminous insight and vigilant guardianship. Her resplendent green hue evokes vitality, renewal, and a nurturing connection with the natural world. This vibrant color also conveys her healing energy and swift compassion. Radiating calm strength and unwavering dedication, Green Tara's sacred presence inspires confidence, offering solace and guidance on the path toward liberation.
How Do You Take Care of Your Statues?
- Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
- Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
- Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
- Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
- Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
Consecration Service Available
Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
Please note: Once consecrated, the statue becomes a sacred object and cannot be returned or refunded.
