Introduction To The Thangka :

Manjushri is Graceful, Magnificent, and Melodic and embodies the Buddhas' unfathomable wisdom. He holds a burning sword of wisdom in his right hand, and in his left is a lotus flower stem on which a book of the Perfection of Wisdom sutras sits. His two-edged blade rips through layers of ignorance, sharply distinguishing between the independent and accurate interconnected ways things look. Manjushri depopulated Nepal's Kathmandu Valley, making it livable for people and disseminating the Buddha's teachings.

How to take care of your thangka?

-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage regularly, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
