About our Statue:

This handcrafted Himalayan Gampopa statue measures 8.3”/21cm in height and 6.7”/17cm at the base and weighs 1.66 kg. Made from 24K gold-gilded copper with gold and acrylic paintings, it reflects expert artisan craftsmanship. Gampopa radiates profound wisdom and compassionate transmission of the Kagyu lineage teachings, inspiring dedication and spiritual growth. This statue is ideal for adding a meaningful presence to any altar or meditation space.

Gampopa is depicted wearing the distinctive Tibetan red Kagyu hat, symbolizing his connection to the Kagyu lineage, along with traditional monastic robes that reflect his role as a dedicated monk and spiritual teacher. He sits in the meditative lotus posture (padmāsana) on a pedestal, representing stability, enlightenment, and his elevated sacred status. He holds the jewel of liberation in dhyāna mudrā, which signifies the spiritual wealth and freedom gained through deep meditation and wisdom. Together, these iconographic elements convey Gampopa’s embodiment of meditative insight, monastic discipline, and the profound teachings of the Kagyu tradition.

Introduction to  Gampopa Sönam Rinchen:

Gampopa Sönam Rinchen (1079–1153) was a pivotal figure in Tibetan Buddhism, renowned for synthesizing the Kadampa and Kagyu traditions to establish the Dakpo Kagyu lineage. Born in the Nyal district of central Tibet, he was trained as a physician and later became a monk and spiritual teacher.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
• Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
