About Our Statue
The Handcrafted Sculpture of Medicine Buddha stands 9.3 inches (23.5cm) in height with a base width of 6.5 inches (16.5cm), making it a graceful piece for any space. Crafted from an oxidized copper body. Symbolizing healing, compassion, and tranquility, this statue embodies the essence of the Medicine Buddha.

The Medicine Buddha is depicted holding an alms bowl in which a healing portion is believed to be found. In his right hand, he carries a myrobalan plant, a medical herb that represents his capacity to heal physical and spiritual illnesses. His right arm has an exquisite carving of one of 8 auspicious symbols (Endless Knot). This symbolizes Samsara, the endless cycle of suffering within Tibetan Buddhism, which includes the chain of birth, death, and rebirth. His tranquil visage and powerful aura exude a sense of deep compassion and serenity, promising protection and well-being to those who seek his blessing.

The healing energy of all enlightened beings is manifested in the Sangye Menla, also known as the Medicine Buddha. He is highly revered in all Buddhist traditions, but notably for his pledge to help beings overcome the mental and physical ailments that stand in the way of their spiritual practice. Menla Sangay is considered to be very effective for healing and for developing a compassionate heart since he embodies the ideal balance between spirituality and science in medicine.

Introduction to Medicine Buddha:

The Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaisajyaguru, is revered in Tibetan Buddhism as the Supreme Healer. His teachings center on alleviating the suffering of sentient creatures, both physical and spiritual. Meditating on his picture is thought to promote health, peace, and well-being, as well as ultimate mental healing through enlightenment.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
• Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
