Authentic Tibetan Thangka of Chenrezig | Symbol of Loving-Kindness and Awakening
Tibetan Thangka of Chenrezig | Four Armed Avalokiteshvara | Visual Mantra of Om Mani Padme Hum
Enhance your sacred space with this Tibetan Thangka of Chenrezig, a hand-painted work created at our Enlightenment Studio, situated in the spiritual heart of Boudhanath, Nepal. Made on cotton canvas with natural stone pigments and shimmering 24K gold, it embodies tradition and authenticity. Designed in the graceful Karma Gadri style, recognized for its openness and softness, every detail reflects the meditative focus and deep spiritual purpose that characterize our studio’s artistry.
Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, is the Bodhisattva of Compassion, whose compassionate gaze and sacred mantra, "Om Mani Padme Hum," echo across the Himalayas. He is the origin of all enlightened compassion, said to respond instantly to sentient beings’ cries. Depicted with four arms, two of which are joined at the heart and are holding the wish-fulfilling jewel, while the remaining two hold a lotus and a crystal mala. He embodies peaceful strength, purity, and loving kindness. Practitioners have meditated on his image for centuries to cultivate inner peace, empathy, and a connection to all of life.
This original thangka depicts Chenrezig seated on a vibrant, multi-colored lotus that rises from peaceful clouds, with serene Himalayan hills surrounding him. The profound yet straightforward background helps viewers focus on the deity’s spiritual essence. Delicate gold accents highlight his crown and ornaments, while subtle stone shades add depth to his robes and lend a divine aura. Painted with devotion by our master artist, this thangka is more than art—it’s a living blessing, designed to inspire compassion in those who view it.
