Shakyamuni Buddha, also called Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and a symbol of enlightenment achieved through inner awakening. Born into royal privilege, he gave up worldly life to seek truth and freedom from suffering. After years of deep meditation and spiritual practice, he attained enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree, becoming the "Awakened One." This statue reflects that profound moment of inner calm and limitless compassion. Depicted in a meditative pose with hands forming the Bhumisparsha mudra—symbolizing the Earth witnessing his enlightenment—the Buddha is shown with serene, balanced features embodying wisdom. His downcast eyes represent reflection, while the ushnisha (topknot) and urna (forehead mark) highlight his elevated spiritual state. Placing this statue in a sacred setting serves as a reminder of the Buddha’s teachings, encouraging mindfulness, compassion, and the pursuit of inner liberation. Ideal for meditation, personal devotion, or display, this Shakyamuni Buddha statue conveys a lasting message of peace and awakening for all.
Introduction to Shakyamuni Buddha :
Siddhartha Gautama was raised as a king by the wishes of his royal father and was born the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom. At about 29 years old, he learned of the immense suffering of others. He renounced his palatial lifestyle, lavish clothing, and fortune to discover the source of the anguish and find a cure. After over six years of study, self-denial, and tremendous concentration, he finally achieved his objective. He had attained nirvana (a Buddha). He then asserted that he had visited a deer park outside of Varanasi, India's Sarnath (Benares).
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. • Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
