About Our Statue
The Shakyamuni Buddha Oxidized Copper Artwork, symbolizing the Buddha's profound teachings and the path to spiritual awakening, is associated with Shakyamuni Buddha. This handcrafted statue is 8.7" (Height) x 6.3" (Base) and weighs 1.40 kg. It is made of oxidized copper. This sacred statue, created by expert Nepalese artisans, represents the craftsmanship of Himalayan Buddhism, making it an inspirational addition to altars, meditation places, or sacred collections.
Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted sitting in the lotus pose (padmasana), indicating his steady concentration and mastery over the distractions of the material world. His right hand stretched toward the earth in bhumisparsha mudra, representing his moment of enlightenment, inviting the earth to witness his waking. The left hand, lying gently in his lap in dhyana mudra holding an alms bowl, depicts the profound state of meditation and mindfulness that leads to insight and clarity.
While the phrase "Happy Buddha" conjures up ideas of the laughing, rotund figure known as Budai, our interpretation depicts Shakyamuni Buddha in a moment of complete pleasure. Shakyamuni, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the Buddha who discovered the road to enlightenment and spent his life teaching others how to follow in his footsteps. This one-of-a-kind portrayal emphasizes his bright joy, reminding us that enlightenment is about more than simply profound realization; it is also about deep happiness and inner calm.
Introduction to Shakyamuni Buddha:
Shakyamuni Buddha renounced his royal life to pursue a more profound truth that transcended material pleasures and suffering. He was born Prince Siddhartha of the Shakya clan. After years of rigorous asceticism and meditation, he became enlightened under the Bodhi tree and became the Buddha, the Awakened One. He then dedicated his life to teaching the Eightfold Path and the Four Noble Truths to attain liberation. Shakyamuni Buddha stands for the potential for all beings to awaken. He embodies wisdom that leads to ultimate freedom, the victory over ignorance, and the tranquility of non-attachment. His presence is a timeless reminder of the transformative power of inner realization, compassion, and mindfulness.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
