About Our Statue :
The Buddha Shakyamuni statue is an intricately handcrafted piece produced in our studio and designed with unique Nepali motifs. The Buddha is depicted seated on a moon-disc lotus and holds an alms bowl in his right hand while performing the 'Bhumisparsa Mudra,’ representing the Buddha's awakening as he claimed the earth as his witness. This piece is hand-carved from copper and partially plated in gold.
This statue is a beautiful and meaningful addition to any sacred space or meditation practice. Truly a perfect addition to your Buddhist shrine, or can be used as a meditative accompaniment for yourself or for any devotee.
Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29, he learned about people's tremendous pain. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the causes of this anguish and the means to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
Introduction to Shakyamuni Buddha :
Siddhartha Gautama was raised as a king following the wishes of his royal father and was born the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom. When he was about 29, he learned of people's immense suffering. He renounced his palatial lifestyle, lavish clothing, and fortune to discover the source of the anguish and find a cure. After over six years of study, self-denial, and tremendous concentration, he finally achieved his objective. He had attained nirvana (a Buddha). He then asserted that he had visited a deer park outside Varanasi, India's Sarnath (Benares).
How Do You Take Care of Your Statues?
- Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
- Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
- Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
- Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
- Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
Consecration Service Available
Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
Please note: Once consecrated, the statue becomes a sacred object and cannot be returned or refunded.
