Four Armed Chenrezig Thangka | Avalokiteshvara’s Boundless Compassion
Four Armed Chenrezig Thangka | Sacred Art of Compassion, Devotion & Enlightened Presence
This Four-Armed Chenrezig Thangka illustrates Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, in his most iconic representation, showcasing four arms that signify his boundless ability to rescue all sentient beings. His four-armed form symbolizes the all-encompassing nature of enlightened love, with each arm representing the four immeasurable qualities of joy, serenity, compassion, and loving-kindness. In his principal hands, joined at the heart in the anjali mudra, he holds a wish-fulfilling jewel. His additional hands grasp a blossoming lotus, symbolizing the purity of body, speech, and mind, and a crystal rosary, signifying the continuous cycle of compassionate action. Crafted with genuine 24K gold and natural stone colors, this Thangka presents a timeless and uplifting image. Each detail, executed in the traditional Karma Gadri style, carefully rendered to honor ancient Tibetan craftsmanship and invoke divine blessings.
Chenrezig is depicted in a tranquil vajra position atop a moon disc on a lotus base, emanating spiritual majesty and divine serenity. His radiant white body, adorned with flowing silks and a crown featuring five jewels, radiates tranquility and purity. The bodhisattva's commitment to protect all sentient beings and promote non-violence is represented by a delicate deer-skin draped over one shoulder. The Thangka's spiritual significance is further enriched by the intricate decorations on his attire and the halo, symbolizing his deep connection with the universe. The serene mountains and lush landscapes in the background illustrate the extent and calmness of the Buddha's compassion and wisdom. This thangka transcends mere sacred art; it serves as a visual mantra that enhances meditation, emanates loving-kindness, and transforms any space into a sanctuary of serenity.
