About Our Statue
This Hand-Carved, Oxidized Manjushri Bodhisattva Statue, also known as the Wisdom Bodhisattva, measures 6.5”/16.5cm in height and 5.3”/13.5cm at the base, weighing 0.87 kg. Made from oxidized copper inlaid with gemstones, it reflects traditional craftsmanship in a refined and compact form. Expertly crafted by skilled Nepali artisans, it makes a meaningful addition to altars, meditation spaces, or personal spiritual collections.
Manjushri is positioned on a lotus or moon disc throne, symbolizing purity, spiritual grounding, and freedom from illusion. He holds a flaming sword in his right hand, representing the penetrating wisdom that dispels ignorance and delusion. His left hand is held in the Vitarka Mudra, the gesture of discussion and teaching. A lotus flower rises near his left arm, supporting the Prajñāpāramitā Sutra, which signifies the perfection of wisdom and the highest Dharma teachings. Introduction to Manjushri
Manjushri, often revered as the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, is one of the most significant figures in Mahayana Buddhism. His name translates to "Gentle Glory." he is celebrated for embodying wisdom (prajñā), insight, and knowledge. Manjushri is traditionally depicted holding a flaming sword in his right hand, which symbolizes the cutting through of ignorance and delusion. In his left hand, he has a lotus flower, often accompanied by a scroll of wisdom, which represents the Buddha's wisdom and the clarity it brings.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
• Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
