Introduction To The Thangka :

The Kalachakra mandala is the "Palace of Purity," including over 700 deities symbolized by various signs and symbols. The palace's entrances closest to the center are known as cittacakra (mind wheels), while the entrances in the middle are known as vakcakra (voice wheels). Figures of various animals, including a corpse and a marigold-like lotus flower, may be found outside the gates of Vakcakra. They include a deer, a buffalo, a ram peacock, an elephant, a mongoose, a bull, a Makara, a mouse, and the Garuda.

How to take care of your thangka?

-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage regularly, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
