Introduction To The Thangka :
Narasimha (Sanskrit: नरसिंह, IAST: Narasiṃha, ISO: Narasiṁha, lit. man-lion) is a powerful incarnation of the Hindu deity Vishnu who incarnates as half lion, part man to fight evil and stop religious persecution and catastrophe on Earth, ultimately restoring Dharma.
Narasimha, also known as the man-lion, is a Hindu god who is an incarnation of Vishnu, the supreme deity of Vaishnavism and a member of Hinduism's Trimurti. The name is derived from the Sanskrit words Nara, which means "man," and Simha, which means "lion" or "strong one." He is represented as having a human body, a lion's head, and occasionally claws. Narasimha is one of the Dashavatara's ten primary avatars of Vishnu.
How to take care of your thangka?
-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage regularly, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
