Introduction To The Thangka :

About the life story of Buddha, Sakyamuni Buddha descended into the world to offer the proper way to fortunate creatures in order for them to be free of the cycle of life. He engaged in all Bodhisattva tasks in order to achieve complete enlightenment. He traveled lessons for the benefit of all sentient creatures from one location to the next till the end of his life.

The Prajnaparamita is Lord Buddha's core teaching, and it incorporates two key beliefs: Prajna (wisdom) and Upaya (method). In this Sutra, he describes the emptiness directly, and how realizing the emptiness is a precise cure to self-deception as well as the phenomenon that is the underlying cause of cyclic life. Similarly, this Stra describes indirectly the several phases of the route to Buddhahood, which is the ultimate aim of sentient beings. It signifies that in order to achieve enlightenment, one must exercise both knowledge and procedure.

How to take care of your thangka?

-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage on a regular basis, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.
