About our Vajra
Our Iron Body Vajra is a beautifully created Tibetan Buddhist ritual implement that is 18.5 cm wide, 4 cm tall, and weighs 0.428 kg. Made from iron, this Vajra represents strength, resilience, and the indestructible character of enlightened understanding. In Buddhist and Hindu traditions, the Vajra, also known as the thunderbolt or diamond scepter, represents unbreakable mental clarity and unstoppable compassion. The Vajra, which is employed in Vajrayana Buddhist rituals, is an important tool for spiritual protection, meditation, and tantric practices, allowing practitioners to cultivate focused energy and enlightenment.
The representation of the Vajra has important spiritual significance. The central sphere represents the unity of absolute reality, while the double-ended prongs reflect the merger of wisdom (Prajna) and skillful ways (Upaya) in Buddhist teachings. The eight-pronged shape on each side represents Buddha's Wisdoms, highlighting the Vajra's position as a transformational spiritual weapon. In Buddhist rituals, it is frequently combined with a bell (ghanta), with the Vajra representing technique and compassionate action and the bell representing wisdom and emptiness. This iron Vajra is valued for its ability to clear away ignorance, negativity, and barriers, making it an effective tool for meditation, ritual offerings, and spiritual empowerment.
Introduction to Vajra :
An instrument symbolizing vajra is also extensively used in tantra rituals. It consists of a spherical central section, with two symmetrical sets of five prongs, which arc out from lotus blooms on either side of the sphere and come to a point at two points equidistant from the center, thus giving it the appearance of a "diamond scepter," which is how the term is sometimes translated.
