Introduction To Amitabha Buddha :

Amitabha was a king who renounced his throne to become a monk. After accumulating great merit over countless lives, he took the name of Dharmakara Bodhisattva and finally achieved enlightenment and became a Buddha.
Buddha Amitabha now reigns over “Sukhavati,” the western paradise called “the Pure Land.”

Amitabha has red skin and is dressed in monk's robes sitting in the lotus position. His hands are folded and facing up in meditation mudra (samadhi), holding a bowl containing the nectar of immortality.

How to take care of your thangka?

-Hang your thangka in a traditional silk brocade
-Regular Inspection of your thangka; examine the borders and all attachments.
-Keep thangkas covered when they are on display but not in use.
-Rotate thangkas between display and storage regularly, two to four times a year, to reduce the amount of exposure to light. Keep away from sunlight and humidity.
-Do not apply liquids or other materials to the surface of the thangka.

At the Enlightenment Thangka, the consecration procedure entails a precisely planned set of rituals and ceremonies. As requested for consecration/ blessing, we take the thangka to respective Monasteries.
