About Our Stupa :
Our shrine is a hand-carved gold-plated and jewel copper stupa. It is an elevated dome-shaped structure that serves as a Buddhist shrine. Stupas are sometimes referred to as "Chorten" in Tibetan. "A stupa is a palace where all the Buddhas are residing.
Introduction To The Stupa :
The Buddha is shown in the stupa's form, crowned, and seated in a lotus position on a lion's throne. His throne is the base, his legs are the four steps of the lower terrace, his torso is the vase form, and his legs are the top of the spire. His head is the square at the foot of the spire.
The earliest surviving work of Buddhist art is the stupa, or Chorten in Tibetan. It symbolizes the massive Indian burial mounds from past that Buddhism said served as a search for missing Buddha relics. They evolved into many other forms over time, including tiny metal reproductions that, while serving the same function as sacred relics, are more significant in a Buddhist monastery for invoking the Buddha and his teachings.
