This Handmade Oxidized Copper Padmapani Statue stands at 11.0”/28cm in height and 5.1”/13cm at the base, weighing 1.87 kg. Expertly handcrafted from an oxidized copper body, this statue showcases the skill and tradition of experienced Nepali artisans. The dark, aged finish highlights its serene form and timeless elegance. Ideal for altars, meditation spaces, or sacred interiors, this piece reflects a refined aesthetic that evokes calm, compassion, and spiritual grace.
Padmapani is depicted in a graceful standing posture atop a detailed lotus base, symbolizing spiritual purity and the blossoming of compassion in the world. His right hand is raised in the abhaya mudra, a gesture of fearlessness and protection that offers reassurance and divine support to all beings. In his left hand, he holds the stem of a lotus flower that blooms beside his shoulder, representing purity, enlightenment, and the bodhisattva’s unwavering compassion. Adorning his head is a five-pointed crown, symbolizing the Five Dhyani Buddhas and the integration of their enlightened qualities. The oxidized copper finish enhances the serene and timeless presence of this compassionate figure.
Padmapani, meaning “Holder of the Lotus,” is a compassionate form of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion. He represents the active aspect of compassion in the world, always reaching out to assist sentient beings in overcoming suffering. The lotus he holds symbolizes purity arising unstained from the mud—signifying that one can attain enlightenment despite worldly defilements.
How do you take care of your statues?
• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
