Introduction To Vairocana Buddha :

Vairocana is a Buddha who is the embodiment of Dharmakaya, and which therefore can be seen as the universal aspect of the historical Gautama Buddha. In Sino-Japanese Buddhism, Vairocana is also seen as the embodiment of the Buddhist concept of shunyata or Emptiness.

Vairocana is portrayed in the Mahavairocana Sutra as the supreme Buddha, the source of all other Buddhas. He is also portrayed as the source of wisdom who frees people from situations and causes. Vairocana is said to have taught the Vajrasattva the Dharma, although it was difficult for them to understand. That's why Vairocana provided esoteric techniques and rituals to help Vajrasattva to conceptualize the Dharma beyond verbal form. Vairocana is therefore also referred to as a teacher, without whom there would have been no Buddhism and no way to enlightenment.
