Medicine Buddha, or the Healing Buddha, as the name suggests. According to mythology, he changed himself into a dazzling blue light Buddha in front of a vast crowd and taught/transmitted healing and medicinal knowledge. As a result, he is frequently shown with blue skin or clutching a blue medicine jug.

Medicinal is often represented seated, wearing the three robes of a Buddhist monk, holding a lapis-colored jar of medicine nectar in his left hand and the steam of the Aruna fruit or Myrobalan in his right hand. He is also mentioned in the sutra as having an aura of lapis lazuli-colored brightness.
