In Buddhism, it is said that the rationale for hiding Treasures is said to have been formulated when Padmasambhava discerned the future, a time when Tibetans would need unique teachings to get them through specific difficult periods. This involved designating some of his disciples to reveal those teachings in a future lifetime.
