When he was about 29 years old, he learned of people's immense suffering. He renounced his palatial lifestyle, lavish clothing, and fortune to discover the source of the anguish and find a cure. After over six years of study, self-denial, and tremendous concentration, he finally achieved his objective. He had attained nirvana (a Buddha). He then asserted that he had visited a deer park outside Varanasi, India's Sarnath (Benares).

View More from Our Shakyamuni Buddha Statues Collection

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0626/7214/2590/files/uc_a2e44fbf-ab35-41ef-9d3d-6db383c4c8fb.jpg?v=1790835934
