He is typically dressed in the attire of a Bodhisattva, including fine silks and jewelry, which symbolize his enlightened nature and compassionate activity. The four arms represent the four immeasurable qualities: love, compassion, joy, and equanimity. One hand typically holds prayer beads, which Chenrezig uses to count the recitations of the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum." It symbolizes the continuous practice of compassion.
